Since March 2010, Food 4 Paws has provided temporary food for dogs and cats whose owners might otherwise be forced to surrender their pets to a shelter due to economic reasons. This mission could not have been realized without your generous donations.
This letter is to inform you the Food 4 Paws board had to make the difficult decision to close the food pantry. Meadows Veterinary Clinic, which served as our food pantry and distribution center, was sold effective July 1. On July 14, Food 4 Paws held their last food distribution. All clients were notified to make sure they would attend this last distribution. All of the remaining bags and cans of food in stock were distributed giving each client 6-7 months of food for their pets. Any remaining funds will be dispersed to local pet charities.
Your generosity has helped support 106 central Illinois families and fed 118 dogs and 78 cats. Food 4 Paws distributed over 13 tons (26,701 lbs) and 1,622 cans of food since opening the pantry doors.
Please accept our sincere, heartfelt thank you for so generously supporting Food 4 Paws, central Illinois families and their pets.
We seek to provide temporary food for dogs and cats whose owners might otherwise be forced to surrender their pets to a shelter. We believe that pets are important members of many families. By helping to keep those pets in their homes we hope to maintain the human-animal bond that is so important - especially in difficult times.
